Mark, I guess your challenge (as has been mine) is finding members who will actually participate and use the resources that you have made available. This discussion was originally posted June 23rd? First Response: August 13th???

I have a "MySpace Group" for musicians. There are 49 "members" but only three of us share information or post messages. To me, that means it's not worth my time to maintain it. Ultimately, that lack of participation led me to search for something better and I found this site! :)

Now that I'm a member, I notice that there are more than 40 members here but the discussions are lacking input and response. My spin on it is that most people today are more interested in Marketing than working together toward common goals.

I sure wish I could tell you where to find "active" members! I can say this though. I KNOW that this can work. I am a member of another "Ning" group and I receive valuable info daily. It works when the people WANT it to.

I agree with Tyson. I was one of the first ones to jump all over the ning network for Houston. Very little interfacing has been done that I can see. The site itself is marvelous. If people (musicians) would just use it for networking and self promotion. I would be interested in trying to crack that "INNER LOOP" thing that seems to be so predominate in the Houston Area. It's almost like anybody outside of the heights or Loop 610 doesnt exist. Terrible shame too. I plan on keep plugging away till I cant stand it anymore. Thanks for the tools and thanks for your time and effort.

Also I have yet to send an email to all the bands in the database. Once I do that things should pick up for sure. I just need to find the time to send out about a thousand emails. :)
