Laid Back Jam Sessions/Open Mic

Does anyone have any suggestions for laid back jam sessions or open mics for fairly amateur vocalists/musicians, with hardly any gear? I know there is a list here, but I was just wondering if anyone had any personal knowledge. I'm basically just trying to have fun and meet some folks.

you can't get more laid back than the LLC
Last Concert Cafe : Acoustic Jam Sessions for all levels of musicians 12pm-5:30pm. Those who know teach those who don't; David Fahl & Band 6-9pm - No Cover

there used to be one at The County Line out Westheimer but I would call first.
The County Line Bar & Grill (281-398-4800) : The Convertibles Band hosts open mike from 4PM - 8PM.
